Grass fire near Enid burns 500 acres as multiple counties placed under burn ban

Multiple grass fires were ignited around Oklahoma Monday, as several counties are placed under burn bans.

Firefighters from Enid and surrounding areas responded to a fire between 54th and 66th on East Phillips road Monday afternoon.

The fire burned about 500 acres in a wheat field and took crews two hours to bring under control.

Right now, six counties are under a burn ban due to fire conditions.
Dewey is the latest county to be added. Major, Alfalfa, Texas, Beaver, and Cimmaron Counties remain under a burn ban.
