Respect for Our Flag, and all that it stands for, is at an all time low.

There was disrespect during the unrest of the 1960’s and 1970’s, but now there are a lot more people. Many are immigrants or children born to immigrants. Many have been educated by schools and universities that have been infiltrated and corrupted by America Haters.

The U.S. population almost quadrupled during the 20th century—at a growth rate of about 1.3% a year—from about 76 million in 1900 to 281 million in 2000. Foreign-born immigration has caused the U.S. population to continue its rapid increase, with the foreign-born population doubling from almost 20 million in 1990 to over 45 million in 2015, representing one-third of the population increase.
Population growth is fastest among minorities as a whole, and according to the Census Bureau’s estimation for 2012, 50.4% of U.S. children under the age of 1 belonged to ethnic minority groups.
In 2017, out of the U.S. foreign-born population, some 45% (20.7 million) were naturalized citizens, 27% (12.3 million) were lawful permanent residents (including many eligible to become citizens), 6% (2.2 million) were temporary lawful residents, and 23% (10.5 million) were unauthorized immigrants.

In the pre-WW2 years, immigrants wanted to come to our shores and they wanted to become Americans. They came to love their adopted country, it’s history, and it’s flag. They were proud to be called Americans and treasured their eventual citizenship.
Now, times have changed, as evidenced by the examples below.

FLAG HATERS

San Antonio Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich took over for Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski as the new Team USA Men’s Basketball head coach. Ironically (and unfortunately), “Pop” isn’t exactly known to be the most patriotic American in the nation.
Popovich told The New York Times in a column by Maureen Dowd posted Saturday, “The flag is irrelevant. It’s just a symbol that people glom onto for political reasons …”

This is the head coach of Team USA Men’s Basketball! I submit that YOU, POPOVICH, HAVE MADE YOURSELF IRRELEVANT.

Popovich represents the United States national team not only at home, but in other countries. I guess it was bound to be the case that the head coach hates America, seeing as how most players of professional sports hate everything about America. Everything except the millions of dollars that they earn. These professionals have become role models to America’s youth, including high school teams.

Here’s another example of disrespect.

A day before Flag Day (which was Sunday, June  14), two city employees were spotted using the Stars and Stripes to mop the floor of a filthy Coney Island restroom, a witness told The Post.
Jose Gonzalez, a Guardian Angel who was on patrol on the boardwalk Saturday afternoon, said he saw two employees from the Parks Department wiping down a men’s bathroom with a flag mop.

The city employees were confronted by an elderly veteran. The enraged veteran told them, “You can’t use the flag to wipe up urine and s–t from the floor.”

“He was really angry,” said Gonzalez, 44, a 26-year veteran of the Guardian Angels who also manages a security company.
“The Parks guy didn’t see what the big deal was and told him, ‘It’s just a symbol.’”
Gonzalez snapped a photo of the mophead.
“This is an absolute disgrace especially one day before Flag Day, an honored day that no one is discussing in New York City,” said disgusted Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa. “Clearly, we are not educating our citizens.”

I’m not sure that I could have restrained myself to only taking a picture.

And then, there is Pelosi’s very political and very insulting stunt.
What do you think of, what do you feel, when you see the following? How do you view it?

It’s emotional. It’s honorable. It’s sacred.
So how do you feel about the this?

That act has enraged many. George Floyd was no hero. He was under the influence of multiple drugs when he attempted to pass counterfeit money. Floyd had an extensive and violent criminal history.
Minneapolis police union head Lt Bob Kroll said in a letter to police officers, “What is not being told is the violent criminal history of George Floyd. The media will not air this.”
We see our flag being treated as rag, as an irrelevant symbol, as a political prop, and it’s disgraceful.
Our flag has deep meaning and everything about the flag illustrates Americas founding and principles.

 The flag consists of thirteen horizontal stripes, seven red alternating with 6 white. The stripes represent the original 13 Colonies; the stars represent the 50 states of the Union. The colors of the flag are symbolic as well: Red symbolizes Hardiness and Valor, White symbolizes Purity and Innocence and Blue represents Vigilance, Perseverance and Justice.
In a military funeral, a U.S. flag is properly draped over the coffin. The flag is then folded 13 times and handed to the surviving family. Pride in the country and the service the person gave for his or her country is clear.
SO SAD, SO MUCH MEANING

I’m sick of the disrespect heaped upon our flag. Because it’s not just a piece of cloth being disrespected. It’s our nation, our history, our values, our contribution to the world. It’s the treasure spent in faraway lands to promote freedom. Most importantly, disrespect of our flag disrespects the blood poured out by our men and women in the fight to preserve our American values and way of life.
The flag is shown so much disrespect by so many nowadays. That’s a damn shame and it needs to stop.
