A Democratic mayoral candidate in South Carolina was arrested and jailed for filming a fake kidnapping of herself. The reason?
Sabrina Belcher, 29, was arrested and charged with conspiracy and filing a false police report after Sumter police say she filmed herself being kidnapped, beaten and robbed on Facebook earlier this week.
Christopher James Eaddy, 34, was also charged with conspiracy in the case, the Sumter Police Department said in a news release.
“They staged a kidnapping and beating in order to garner publicity, sympathy and votes in the November election,” police said.
People like this are so stupid. How do they think they’ll get away with such an obvious ploy? Just think, she might have been elected Mayor! Unfortunately, many who are stupid just like her ARE in elected or appointed office.
She was filmed on Facebook Live being robbed, beaten and kidnapped. She also said the man had knocked out the windows of her car. Belcher was taken to a nearby hospital for her injuries and was later released.

Think she Photoshopped her campaign poster? Talk about a bait-and-switch. “Geez! I didn’t vote for THAT THING!”
Also notice on the poster… “change is comming.” I dunno, maybe it’s a mashup of “commie” and “coming”.
Belcher’s campaign page on Facebook, states that she is the first “Black female candidate ever to run.” Also, she is known as “a decorated community activist and local volunteer” as well as a volunteer firefighter in Sumter County. Volunteer firefighter??? How???
Police said she had “ongoing plans to smear other mayoral candidates prior to the election.”
“This was simply an effort to create disorder and discontent in our community for personal gain,” said Chief Russell Roark in a press release. “As a result, a valuable number of resources, including personnel, man hours of the police department as well as local medical professionals, were wasted based on false information.”
Belcher is still running for mayor in South Carolina against five other candidates. In addition to her interest in local politics, Belcher also performs rap music.
