It’s a fact that seniors are the biggest users of prescription drugs. Just watch any program that caters oldsters. Pretty much every commercial is for prescription drugs.

So when a Senate bill aimed at lowering the price of prescription drugs gets shot down, its particularly harmful to seniors (as well as anyone else that regularly takes a daily regimen of meds).
Prescription drug prices are skyrocketing, jumping nine percent per year.
These costs have left the average American paying nearly $1,200 out of pocket per year, which is outrageous.
Note that the $1200 is out of pocket. Imagine the total cost! And the $1200 is, of course, an average. For some, the out of pocket is many thousands of dollars.
To combat these high costs to consumers, Senate Republicans introduced the Affordable Prescriptions for Patients Act to lower those costs.
You’d think the Democrats would help this bill to sail through to President Trump for his signature. After all, the Democrats are the party that always accuses the Republicans of shoving Granny off the cliff. But it wasn’t to be so. The bill was blocked by none other than Chuck U. Schumer.

SCHUMER AT A GAY PRIDE EVENT
Back in 2017, Shumer offered this oft repeated mantra, ‘The Trump/GOP Healthcare Bill Hammers the Most Vulnerable – Seniors, Children And Individuals With Disabilities, – Forcing New Yorkers To Make Horrible Choices Like Buying Food, Paying the Rent/Mortgage, Or Purchasing Prescription Medication.”
But now, Charles is blocking a bill to drastically reduce prescription drug prices for Americans. A bill that would put us more in line with the much lower prices paid by Canadians, Europeans and others.
Our high costs in effect subsidize the low prices that others pay. And, middlemen take advantage of our unregulated prices. They’re the ones pocketing all that extra money.
One of Schumer’s own colleagues, Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, urged passage of the bill because he said it would play a big role in lowering the cost of prescription drug costs.
“If we pass this legislation, millions of Americans may no longer have to choose between food on the table, rent payments, and the medicine they need and deserve,” said Blumenthal.
Was Blumenthal taking a slap at Schumer?

Why is Schumer blocking a bill that he would normally champion? He’s blocking it because he doesn’t want to grant President Trump and the Republican led Senate another victory before the election.
What a piece of work Schumer is.That’s the Democrat way. It doesn’t matter who suffers, as long as they win. It’s the same way with blocking the extension of unemployment benefits during the forced coronavirus layoffs.
The bottom line is…Schumer doesn’t want to vote for this Affordable Prescriptions for Patients Act because he suffers from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. And the treatment for that is not a prescription drug.
