Counsel taken. Thanks.
Generally, I try not to post about sensitive topics. This time it seems I blew it.
For some reason, that video came to mind the other night. I’d remembered seeing it years ago. I checked out youtube, just looked up Blackwater sniper. There it was.
So I added a couple of comments. Posted it without thinking of the ramifications.
The title, “Turkey Shoot”, came from the video. I’ve heard the term used concerning other similar situations. And of course, in the Pacific, WWII, there was the battle in the Philippine Sea referred to as the “Great Marianas Turkey Shoot”.
But using those words could sound rather cavalier, as did my use of the phrase. [cavalier, ADJECTIVE, not consider other people’s feelings or take account of the seriousness of a situation.]

For some reason, our society tends to glorify war. I don’t profess to know why.
And Oderint Dum Metuant C.B.A., thanks for agreeing to the interview.
Powerful words, “I felt dirty…. No I felt tainted as if I had a dark spot put on my soul. And every time after I felt that spot grow bigger…The thought that I may have to pick up my rifle again and defend my country scares the hell out of me. But its better I do it than the ones here that are still innocent.”
We can all learn from your words. No disrespect was intended.
Sincerely, Llew
