Republican Senator Marco Rubio has once again shown himself to be a D.C. Swamp dweller. He has sided with Democrats to block Republicans from receiving documents related to Russiagate.
Rubio seemed promising when he first came on the national political scene. He snuggled up to the Tea Party and quickly gained their support. With the power of the Tea Party behind him, Rubio won his senate race and was propelled to prominence.
But it didn’t take Rubio long to turn his back on his patrons and settle into the swamp.
After winning his Senate seat as a tea party champion in 2010, Mr. Rubio often broke with conservatives, most conspicuously when he joined the bipartisan “Gang of Eight” senators who proposed amnesty for illegal immigrants as part of a comprehensive immigration bill.
“He’s not a real conservative ,” said Edward Gato, who voted for Mr. Rubio. “Mr. Rubio had changed since his tea party days. He’s learned how the system works…”GANG OF LOSERS
“He betrayed all of Florida, but mostly he betrayed people like me who worked hard to get him elected,” said Dan Ray, a founding member of Tea Party group in The Villages, a large retirement community in Florida, where Rubio campaigned.
When Rubio joined with the so-called Gang of Eight to propose a bipartisan, comprehensive immigration reform bill, Tea Party groups saw it as akin to an act of treason.
Tea Partiers supported the Rubio over Gov. Charlie Crist (who later became a Democrat). And they trusted him on the issue of immigration worked to get him elected.
“[Rubio] didn’t run with the establishment Republican base. In 2010, he ran with the constitutional conservative base. That’s who got him into office,” said KrisAnne Hall, from Wellborn, Florida. “He got into the office quoting the Constitution and standing with the Founding Fathers… The people who elected him in 2010 don’t trust him anymore.”
And now Rubio has thumbed his nose at fellow Republicans. The Washington Examiner reported Monday that Marco Rubio, Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI), is refusing to share information from the SSCI’s “Russia Collusion” investigation with his fellow committee chairmen.
Sen. Ron Johnson, Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, and Sen. Chuck Grassley, requested by letter to Rubio and SSCI ranking Democrat Mark Warner that SSCI share some of its records with their committees in order to further their investigations into Spygate/Obamagate. Yesterday, Rubio and Warner rejected that request.
RUBIO AND WARNER
One Senate committee refusing to share information with another Senate committee. Why doesn’t Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell step in? Because he’s Mitch McConnell….
And what does Rubio have to hide? It is widely believed that Rubio in some way participated in the Deep State coup led by the DOJ/FBI from late 2016 through early 2019. Now Rubio wants to keep the paper trail hidden. What scum.
There are still far too many Anti-Trump, Never-Trump republicans. They’re deeply entrenched, very powerful, and they want to retain their power and influence. Many Republican politicians will not help The President, and when they think they can get away with it, they actively oppose Trump. It is only the voters, the people, the American citizens that can reelect Donald J. Trump. And that is the ONLY CHANCE to make even a dent in the corrupt Washington D.C. swamp.
