Biden is a true cellar dweller. He has conducted most of his campaign virtually, from his bunker. Even in his controlled environment, he screws up “virtually” every time. He can’t get out a coherent paragraph. He misreads his teleprompter. He reads the headers and footers on the screen. He’s distracted by tweety birds, bugs, geese and his phone. He’s like a little kindergarten kid. “Joey! Pay attention please!”

Seeing as how Joe has such a hard time in a controlled environment, there is conjecture that he will either ditch the debates, or insist on virtual debates.
The excuse for keeping out of sight has been his concern over Covid-19. Maybe he’s really that concerned. He wears his mask almost all the time, even when no-one else is nearby. But he’s an old guy, and has underlying conditions that he has to think about. I understand that. If he’s unusually frail, that calls into question his ability to run the most powerful nation in history.

If Joe and the Biden/Harris campaign insist on virtual debates, one has to wonder why. The debates could be held in a disinfected gymnasium. Chairs or podiums 20 feet apart. Moderator 20 feet away. Cameras and crews all spread out. There would no chance of virus spreading. After all, he’s content with the 6 foot rule.
Trumps concern is that Biden is using Covid as an excuse to be in a setting where he has access to a teleprompter and to coaches. Where he can cheat. Biden would be much like a ventriloquist’s dummy. Everybody, including the moderators and the MSM would be able to tell that it is a fake debate, but the leftists wouldn’t mention it. That would be another topic that is “verboten”. (Much like Karl Rove being forbidden to mention Soros on Fox News. Yeah, Fox.)

Insiders in President Donald Trump’s campaign claim they are afraid that Democratic rival Joe Biden wants to thwart the normal presidential debate schedule, citing concerns about the coronavirus. “We have every reason to believe that Joe Biden, if he agrees to go forward with debates in the first place, will want to retreat to his remote video link and the Skype-call campaign he’s been running and do the debate from his basement,” Trump campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh told reporters, “where he can rely on notes, a teleprompter or a handler off camera.”
Biden’s already been busted for relying on a teleprompter to answer questions at press conferences and during interviews. Which means that the questions and answers are all scripted, likely by someone other than Joe.

His brain is no longer quick enough or sharp enough to quickly formulate thoughts and then put those thoughts into words. Neither Biden nor Harris take questions that require impromptu answers.

Biden has mostly shied away from the traditional campaign trail, citing the coronavirus risks. But he has restarted speeches without an audience in key battleground states and announced last week that he would resume campaign events after Labor Day.
According to the most recent schedule, Trump and Biden are set to first share the debate stage on September 29 at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. I wouldn’t put it past the left to manufacture a spike in Covid cases in Ohio right before the first debate.
Vice President Mike Pence and Biden’s running mate U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris will face off on October 7 at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Two additional debates between Biden and Trump are scheduled for October 15 in Miami, Florida, and October 22 in Nashville, Tennessee.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stuck her nose into the campaign debates when she suggested that Biden not take part. Murtaugh said. “I think Joe Biden has to step up and reaffirm in writing that he will, in fact, participate in the debates. We do not think it’s too much to ask that Americans see the two candidates on the debate stage before they start voting.” President Trump has requested that both he and Biden be drug tested prior to the debates. It has been suggested that Biden is injected with stimulants before appearing at important events.
Biden has had a mark on his hand for weeks, suggesting repeated transfusions.
