The democrats are pushing a $15 minimum wage as part of their COVID-19 relief package, which is anything but relief. The Congressional Budget Office says this would kill 1.4 million jobs and shutter small business across the country. Rep. Ro Khanna was asked about the negative impact of this and said he doesn’t want those business to succeed. In yet another democrat opposite-definition, “relief” means “complete destruction.”
The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has looked at the democrats’ $15 minimum wage proposal and determined that it’s a job-killing menace.

Raising the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour, as President Joe Biden has proposed, would cost 1.4 million jobs over the next four years while lifting 900,000 people out of poverty, according to a Congressional Budget Office report Monday.
F*cking over 1.4 million people so 90k can live slightly better is just the kind of bold problem-solving we’ve come to expect from democrats. California Rep. Ro Khanna went on CNN to defend this economic disaster in the making:

The host asked Khanna what he makes of the fact that imposing a $15 minimum wage would put people out of work and force small businesses to close.
“How does this, in your view, effect mom and pop business who are just struggling to keep their doors open and keep workers on the payroll?” the host asked.
“Well, they shouldn’t be doing it by paying people low wages. We don’t want low wage businesses,” replied Khanna.
Oops, he said the quiet part out loud. He just said that he and the entire democratic party is happy that a $15 minimum wage would force mom and pop businesses to shutter and put their workers on unemployment.
Khanna then took this further by saying, “If workers were actually getting paid for the value they’re creating, it would be up to $22.”
$22 an hour for flipping burgers or scrubbing toilets? Teachers and skilled tradesman don’t make that much.
Because he’s a shit person, Khanna doubled-down on this awful small business-killing sentiment:
“I don’t want businesses that are under-paying employees,” Khanna said.
Spoken like a man who has never owned a business or even worked a minimum wage job in his life.
Big companies will be able to pay this inflated minimum wage but will pass the cost on to the consumer. Another unintended consequence of this is that these companies will cut jobs as well as reduce employee hours. McDonald’s’ payroll will stay the same, they’ll just do it with less workers and more part-time employees who will lose their benefits.
Small businesses however don’t have the luxury of raising prices and cutting employees. They’ll just go out of business because the can’t afford to operate. It’s already happened in liberal cites that have raised the minimum wage and it’ll happen nationally if the democrats pass this piece of crap proposal.
When democrats talk about creating jobs what they really mean is putting people out of work and on the unemployment line. To them, government dependency is a viable career move.
Democrats aren’t even trying to hide their true intentions anymore as Ro Khanna is bragging about how happy they are that their plan will shutter mom and pop businesses.
