A 7 pm curfew was enacted in the Twin Cities following the police-involved shooting and death of 20-year-old Daunte Wright.
Protestors defied the orders, participating in disorderly conduct and even shooting fireworks over police barricades.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension identified the officer who shot Wright as Kim Potter. Potter has been with the Brooklyn Center Police Department for 26 years. Police Chief Tim Gannon stated in a formal press conference that officers reportedly stopped Wright for expired tags on his vehicle. After running his information, officers found that the suspect had an outstanding warrant. When officers attempted to take Wright into custody, he re-entered the vehicle in an attempt to flee.
Potter discharged her weapon, striking Daunte Wright with one round. Wright then drove the vehicle several blocks before hitting another vehicle. The female passenger, Wright’s girlfriend, sustained non-life threatening injuries.
This appears to be a negligent discharge. The female officer is on admin leave. #DuanteWright was wanted on a warrant when he resisted, attempted to flee, and crashed his car into innocent civilians. Mainstream media has further pushed claims from the victim’s mother that Wright was killed “over an air freshener.” Presumed innocence throughout due process has been blatantly tossed aside by BLM and Antifa activists who have flooded Brooklyn Center streets. Protests escalated to extremes on Monday evening as Minnesota Police utilized tear gas to control law-breaking crowds:

Fox News reported additional information as to the previous charges pressed against the deceased:
“Court records show Wright was being sought after failing to appear in court on charges that he fled from officers and possessed a gun without a permit during an encounter with Minneapolis police in June. In that case, a statement of probable cause said police got a call about a man waving a gun who was later identified as Wright.”
Michigan Representative Rashida Tlaib (D), who has previously been accused of anti-Semitism, called for the end of policing in our country. Rep. Tlaib asserted that all police officers are inherently racist and participate in a system of “government funded murder”:

Officer Potter has been placed on administrative leave.
