I thought with Cornell University declaring the cosmos(everything) racist that liberals were done cataloging the individual items that make up their “everything is racist” narrative. Brandeis University still thinks there’s some merit in calling out all of the things in the cosmos that are racist, so they’ve added picnics to the big list of racism. I guess it’s hard to let go of a good scam.
Brandeis has compile a handy list of Oppressive Language that students should avoid. This is what is to be found under the subheading of Violent Language:
As you can see, picnic made the list. According to Brandeis:
The term picnic is often associated with lynchings of Black people the United States, during which white spectators are said to have watched while eating, referring to them as picnics or other terms involving racial slurs against Black people.
That’s some Joe Biden-like grammar, but the bottom line is that Brandeis considers picnics to be racial slurs against black people. The University recommends that you use the term “outdoor eating” instead.
As dumb as this is, it’s also completely untrue. Lynchings of black men were extrajudicial actions carried out by groups like the KKK (democrats) in the dead of night. Nobody was picnicking during the lynching of a black person.
The events that sometimes drew spectators and even picnickers were state executions, not lynchings. The people put to death were tried and convicted. More importantly, most people ever hanged to death following a conviction were white. If anything, picnics are racist against white people.
The line of thinking, and I use the term loosely, is that anything associated with lynching black people is racist: Democrats wore pants when they hung blacks so therefore pants are racist. Blacks were lynched by ropes hung from trees so ropes and trees are racist. Actually, liberals do believe trees are racist, so adding ropes to the list seems like a no-brainer.
Brandeis also says that “African American” is racist because not all black people are from Africa or American. Additionally, “people of color” is racist because black people are, “disproportionately impacted by violence in the US, even more so than other people of color.” Apparently you can’t use “people of color” because Asians don’t seem to suffer from the same racism as black people. Also, they left out the part about how black people are the ones disproportionately impacting the black community with violence.
“Sold down the river” is also off limits because, “This expression refers to enslaved people who were sold as punishment, separating them from their families and loved ones.”
Saying, “you sold me down the river” is not a celebration of the inhumane treatment of slaves by democrats, it’s term that means someone completely f*cked you over. It’s actually an affirmation of black victimhood so it seems weird that they want to get rid of it.
Speaking of which, Brandeis also considers the word “victim” to be the racist language of the oppressors. Without being allowed to call themselves people of color or victims, black people are going to have difficulty running their race-hustling game. One could even say that this new wokeness is no picnic.
