The worst mayor in America, but Chicago is still Orkin’s Rattiest City for the 6th year in a row…
The crime wave that has across swept cities controlled by Democrats since last summer’s violent riots didn’t take a holiday for the Fourth Of July weekend and it was another bloody one in Chicago.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, there were 99 shootings with 17 of those on the receiving end of the gunfire making a trip to the morgue, 11 of the wounded were kids in what was the bloodiest weekend of the year.
Included in the grim toll were a 5-year-old girl, a 6-year-old girl, a 12-year-old girl, and an 11-year-old boy, all of who were wounded. Among the dead were a 40-year-old man who was shot during a dispute for playing music too loud, a 21-year-old and a 26-year-old man who were gunned down in a drive-by shooting while during fireworks, and a 19-year-old aspiring police officer and National Guard member who was gunned down in the street.
The carnage was the latest black mark on the regime of Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot who took over an already violent city in 2019 and has done nothing but make things worse while doing the impossible by making many Chicagoans long for the good old days when Rahm Emanuel was calling the shots at City Hall.
Lightfoot recently claimed that about 99 percent of the criticism that she has received while her city has racked up a body count on a par with a third world country can be attributed to racism and sexism; she is an openly gay black woman.

During a recent interview, Lightfoot said; “About 99 percent of it, Lightfoot said. “Look at my predecessors. Did people say that Rich Daley held tea sessions with people that he didn’t disagree on? Rahm Emanuel was a polite guy who was a uniter? No. Women and people of color are always held to a different standard.”
With Democrats increasingly edgy about a voter backlash due to the violent crime that they enabled by egging on rioters after the unfortunate death of George Floyd, a prickly Lightfoot argued with a Newsmax reporter last week, while claiming that violence is trending downward and that the city wasn’t the site of race riots in 2020, an outright lie.

Mayor Lightfoot struggled to maintain her composure when asked about her claim that her critics are motivated by racism when the reporter followed up by pointing out that “the City Council of Chicago is obviously made up of many black women who criticize you, do you really believe that the criticism of you is 99 percent based on the fact that you are a black woman?”
Lightfoot may insist on playing identity politics games while the bodies pile up but now faces escalating criticism that she has lost control of her city.
Chicago Alderman Anthony Napolitano, a Republican and a former police officer appeared on Fox & Friends on Monday where he likened the Windy City to a “war zone” and scoffed at Lightfoot’s claim that the real problem was too many guns.
According to Napolitano; “I think that’s pure nonsense. We have the strongest and the strictest gun laws in the state, if not the country. If you go to our surrounding borders right now, where we’re supposedly getting all the guns from, they have nowhere near the amount of crime as we do. We have a people problem here in Chicago. I’ve been saying that for a long time. We have zero accountable ability for people in Chicago. Nobody is raising their kids anymore; the gangs are raising them.” He said
It isn’t likely that even the criminal-coddling, soft-on-crime Democrats will ever be ousted in Chicago, a city that they have controlled since the days of Al Capone but it’s hard to see how any future mayor could possibly do a worse job than Lightfoot.
