A small group of Republican members of Congress, including Reps. Louie Gohmert, Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Paul Gosar, went to the correctional facility in DC that houses the January 6th prisoners and asked to visit the facility. This from therightscoop.com.
They did this because they’ve been stonewalled by this administration thus far on getting any information about the facility.
According to Louie Gohmert, they showed their IDs and were eventually told they’d need to wear masks, which they readily complied with.
After a a few minutes, a woman came out and told them her supervisor says they were trespassing. They argued that as members of Congress they have oversight and should be able to at least tour the facility, but to no avail. When they asked to speak to the woman’s supervisor, they were told to wait.
Eventually the same woman walked out of the building and Gohmert was told she was the supervisor. They followed her outside, only for her to circle back into the building and lock the doors, according to Gohmert.
RSBN was on the scene and got the whole thing:
Matt Gaetz explains what happened:
After asking questions and being ignored for months on the conditions of the January 6th prisoners, we were unable to get any answers and still have gotten no answers.
We’re not going away. We’re going to continue to show up and press these issues. pic.twitter.com/EUfb9tMJKd

UPDATE–The press conference is cued up to 1:18:30 below:
Republican members of congress–No tour of this facility for you today. No tour for you tomorrow. No tour for you any time in the near future. Don’t call us, we’ll call you.
Congressman Louis Gohmert, “Take it by your silence the answer is ‘Yes.’ There is abuse.”
This is democrat malfeasance without a doubt. Abuse of ‘political’ prisoners has all but been confirmed. The prisoners taken January 6th are not being given the care afforded the Guantanamo Bay detainees. Members of congress have a responsibility to investigate allegations of abuse. This will not be the end of this. Damn shame though, it’s going to take a struggle to get in due to the depth of corruption within the Biden regime.
If I were granted access, my advice to these ‘political’ prisoners would be: ‘Do what you must to stay alive and to maintain your physical and mental health. You will be released and you will have the opportunity to seek restitution. Your treatment is inappropriate and we are fighting for you.
Final note: The abuse of power at the hands of the democrat party is beyond imagination. How far will they press their illegal behavior and what will be required to bring it to an end?
