Nancy Pelosi put together a select committee to transform the mild protests at the Capitol on January 6 into the worst thing that has ever happened to democracy. In order to achieve this she needs some serious bullshit and so as the committee began hearing on Tuesday, she backed up the manure truck to the House chamber.
Committee committee Chairman Bennie Thompson (a democrat) kicked off the hearings by claiming, “Our only charge is to follow the facts where they lead.”
Followed by, “We know seven people lost their lives.”
Really? They know that? The only person to actually die inside the Capitol on January 6 was Ashli Babbitt, who was shot to death by a Capitol Police officer. Two others died outside of heart attacks and one person, also outside, died of a drug overdose. Who are the 3 other people democrats “know” died in the Capitol?
This was followed up by testimony from Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn:
“I’d like to take a moment of my time to ask for a moment of silence for my fallen colleague, Officer Brian Sicknick, who died from injuries he sustained in the line of duty defending the Capitol of our beloved democracy,” said Dunn.
Brian Sicknick died of a stroke a day after January 6. His cause of death was listed as “natural” not that he died from injuries he sustained in the line of duty. Officer Dunn just perjured himself, under oath, in a House select committee meeting.
Obviously there is no effort to follow the facts where they lead and that’s because Pelosi never intended to get anywhere near the truth with this select committee. She made that abundantly clear with her own statement:
The violent domestic attack on Congress on #January6th was the worst assault on the Capitol since the War of 1812 & the worst domestic assault on American Democracy since the Civil War.
The future of our democracy is on the line.
