Joe Biden is still trying sell his Build Back Better socialist spending bill. After negotiations, the $3.5 trillion piece of crap is now maybe a $1.7 piece of crap. Speaking of crap, Biden claims if this socialist spending bill passes, you’ll be able to drive across the country in an electric vehicle on a single tank of gas or electricity. he’s not actually sure how it works, but he’s confident it’s a good thing.
Biden started off his latest pitch for socialism and inflation by lying that his spending plan won’t cost anything or add to the national debt. If the spending bill is for zero dollars and zero cents that is true. If it costs more than that, he’s lying.
Then, Joe took his lies into the Land of Biden Bizarro Land with this:
“So when you buy an electric vehicle, and you get credit for buying it, when buy an electric vehicle, you can go all the way across America on a single tank of gas figuratively speaking. It’s not gas. You plug it in,” said Biden.
Huge if true.
I did a little research and I found that it’s 2,903.4 miles from New York City to San Francisco on I80. The average range on an electric vehicle is 275 miles. I’m not even sure you could drive all the way across New York State on single tank of electric gas, but I know you ain’t making it to California.
Biden said this in the context that his BBB socialist plan would build charging stations across the country, but that still doesn’t mean you’d be able to drive across the country on a single tank of electric gas, which is his claim.
I did a little more research and found that it takes about 8 hours to fully charge the average electric vehicle, so think about what a shitty cross country trip that would be. Every 275 miles, you’d have to stop and charge the car for 8 hours. It would take you 10 days to get across the country, which is wagon train speed. The Pony Express did better. Dog sled teams make better time.
I once drove from Washington D.C. to Los Angeles and it took 4 days. I wasn’t even pushing it, I stopped to see the world’s biggest prairie dog in Kansas, checked out the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park, and lost a little money in Las Vegas. For the record, I wasn’t all that impressed with the world’s biggest prairie dog because I don’t know how big a regular one is.
In any case, 4 days was enough. If it took me 10 days I’d probably loose my shit around St. Louis and drive into the Mississippi river to break up the monotony.
Biden also framed this garbage take that electric vehicles don’t cause any pollution. Where does he think the electricity comes from? Is he aware of how much electricity it takes and how much pollution is caused by manufacturing batteries? Is he aware of how bad for the environment it is to dispose of these batteries that frequently need to be replaced?
Those are all rhetorical questions. I know Biden isn’t aware of anything. I mean, he thinks electric cars run on gas or electric gas or whatever. The point is, he’s both senile and full of shit and his socialist Build Back Better agenda won’t allow you to magically drive across the county in an electric car on a single tank of anything.
