Enid, Okla. (KOKH) — Multiple grass fires were ignited around Oklahoma Monday, as several counties are placed under burn bans.
Firefighters from Enid and surrounding areas responded to a fire between 54th and 66th on East Phillips road Monday afternoon.
The fire burned about 500 acres in a wheat field and took crews two hours to bring under control.
Right now, six counties are under a burn ban due to fire conditions.
Dewey is the latest county to be added. Major, Alfalfa, Texas, Beaver, and Cimmaron Counties remain under a burn ban.
