According to OCSO, the medical staff at the Oklahoma County Detention Center were conducting rounds on Saturday when they found 35-year old Desirae Denton unresponsive in her cell around 5:30pm. The sheriff's office says Denton, was housed alone in her cell on the 13th floor and was pronounced dead by medical staff.
Records show Denton had been held in the detention center since April 23, 2020, and was awaiting transport to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections after receiving judgment and sentencing for a charge of indecent lewd acts with a child under 16.

According to the Sheriff's office, a preliminary investigation showed no signs of foul play. The Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death. This is the second detention center in-custody death for 2020.
