OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma City police responded to a scene where they said a person armed with a gun has barricaded themselves in their northwest Oklahoma City apartment.
The apartment complex is located near the intersection of Northwest 30th Street and Villa Avenue.

According to an officer on the scene, the subject was placed in custody just before 4 p.m. Saturday.
The police bomb squad is actively searching for potential explosive devices in the apartment.
Authorities have described the subject as someone with "possibly known mental health issues."

Police have blocked off access to the complex and are setting up a perimeter around the apartments.
The Oklahoma City Police Department's Bomb Squad cleared the area safely.
The name of the suspect has not been released.
