Perhaps you remember the widely publicised self immolation that took place in Saigon, 1963.
I never understood the thinking of someone who deliberately destroys themself in such a way. They want to make a point, but the point is often lost. To me, it seems to be either [1] an attempt to elevate oneself (virtue signalling), [2] mindlessly carrying out the will of another, or [3] the natural end to complete derangement.
The left fits into all three of those categories. It’s unbelievable how many Americans are brainwashed and manipulated. The phenomenon runs in all age groups, but is most pronounced in younger people. That’s to be expected, young people are less experienced and more easily led about. That’s why the marxists are so intent on having control of school aged youth.
Many, if not most younger people today are far different than past generations. They have never been taught American values, never been taught our history, never been taught to think and do for themselves. Never been told no, never been allowed to face failure. Never learned the meaning of sacrifice.
Today’s youth have been programmed to be weak and compliant. White youth have been programmed to hate their country, hate their race, hate their parents, and hate themselves. Chalk one up for the marxists. Chalk one up for the CANCEL CULTURE.
An example is the Columbia University marching band. Columbia University has had a band for 116 years.
Following a vote on Saturday, the band’s leadership issued a statement saying that it has ‘maintained a club structure founded on the basis of racism, cultural oppression, misogyny, and sexual harassment.’
“While substantial efforts have been made in recent years toward undoing decades of wrongdoing, we as a band feel ultimately that it is impossible to reform an organization so grounded in prejudiced culture and traditions.”
“The Band has unanimously and enthusiastically decided to dissolve. The Columbia University Marching Band will not continue to exist in any capacity and will no longer serve as a Columbia (school) spirit group.”
How insane is that? It’s another example of the Cancel Culture. The destruction of another once-proud American Tradition. First they knelt during the National Anthem, now they’ve insured that the Anthem can never be played. They’ve decided that they’re irredeemable AND SO THEY CANCELLED THEMSELVES! THEY’VE SELF IMMOLATED.
Maybe this is something that will become a trend. Perhaps all sorts of groups will decide that it’s in their best interests to disband, to just go away. Still, we are living in strange days indeed.
