As if looking for a bit of good in the bad, there appears to be a silver lining in the Biden administration. The 2020 election may have been a turning point for socialism in America.
A new post-election survey has determined a larger number of the American people are seeing the 2020 election as an unwelcome transition of their lives toward socialism, as reported originally on The Western Journal and found on Gateway Pundit.
The view of what’s happening to America is causing Americans concern and seemingly changing their minds. People are seeing changes being made with the stroke of a pen and they’re not liking these changes. Events are frightening most Americans. The loss of jobs and the fear of higher taxes were not expected.
In a recent news release, the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University revealed only 32 percent of American adults said they preferred socialism to capitalism in the aftermath of the presidential election last fall. In a survey taken in early 2018, that number was 41 percent.
“According to the survey conducted by CRC Director of Research Dr. George Barna, the 9 percentage-point decline among U.S. adults since 2018 represents more than 20 million fewer individuals preferring socialism over capitalism,” the news release read.
This reduction in the preference for socialism cut across age demographics.
Younger Americans under 30, unsurprisingly, were the most supportive of socialism, but even they showed a reduction in support for the worldview in just two-and-a-half years. While 48 percent of those under 30 supported socialism in 2018, only 43 percent supported it after the 2020 election.
Ages 30 to 49 evidenced a 15-point drop in support (49 percent to 34 percent).
And 50-plus year old Americans supported socialism only at 23 percent, compared to 30 percent in 2018.
Despite last year having been one of the most difficult years on record–both for working Americans and our economy–the appearance still is that Americans are rejecting socialism.
How long that holds up, particularly if there’s a marked contraction, is anyone’s guess — but if this is the inflection-point of “squad”-centric socialism, it could be the best piece of news to come out of this past electoral contest.
What say you Def-Con News readers? Are you eager to search for a bit of good in the bad? The Biden administration’s legacy may be one of slowing the growth of Socialism/Communism in America. If such a thing is possible under a Democrat administration.
