Joe Biden ran on a heavy gun control platform and his press secretary has promised he’s coming for our guns. While this sucks for most of the country, at least Texas and Alabama have introduced bills that would block any new gun restrictions in the states. While they’re at it, they should introduce bills that block the rest of Biden’s unconstitutional anti-American agenda.
Biden’s gun control plan involves banning “assault weapons” and normal capacity magazines, plus a huge huge tax for people who want the privilege of keeping the firearms and accessories they’ve legally owned for years.
Democrat Sheila Jackson Lee just introduced a gun control bill that would create a national registry, with a hefty price tag, that would be accessible to the public so thieves know what firearms you have and where you store them.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki recently told reporters that Biden’s gun control agenda is coming soon:
“[Biden] has an ambitious plan in a lot of areas and on a lot of issues. I will say as vice president and even before that, the President took on the NRA twice and won. This is an issue he is personally committed to, we are, many in this building are personally committed to and I think he would love to see action on additional gun-safety measures,” said Psaki. “This is an issue he is personally committed to.”
Biden said he would tackle gun control on “day one” but he was too busy putting Americans out of work, opening the borders, and ensuring that big hairy men get to shower with little girls to get to it then. It is however not a matter of if, but when.
A few red states, that are still part of the America that existed in the pre-Biden takeover days are making sure they stay that way.

There’s been a lot of talk from Governor Greg Abbott lately about making Texas a “Second Amendment Sanctuary State”, and at least two new bills introduced in the latest Texas legislative session are aimed at doing just that.
Texas House Bill 112 and Texas Senate Bill 541 would both call for withholding state funds from organizations that adopt policies calling for the enforcement of any federal gun restrictions enacted after January of 2021. If either bill receives a two-thirds vote in each chamber, it will go into effect immediately. If either passes with a weaker vote, it will go into effect on September 1 of this year.
Basically, these proposed laws are a signal to Washington that Texas is prepared to ignore any federal firearm restrictions enacted this year, including regulations concerning gun accessories, ammunition, or capacity, and that Texas law enforcement agencies will not assist federal authorities in enforcing them.

A former police chief who represents a Mobile County district in the Alabama House is sponsoring a bill intended to block state and local authorities from enforcing any new gun control laws passed by Congress or gun regulations ordered by the president.
Rep. Shane Stringer said his bill, the “Alabama Firearms Protection Act,” is meant to protect Alabamians from any loss of their rights to have guns.
The bill applies to federal laws or regulations passed after Jan. 1, 2021. Those would include regulations on ownership, use and possession of guns, ammunition, and accessories such as magazines, telescopic and laser sights, flash or sound suppressors, folding or aftermarket stocks and grips, speedloaders, ammunition carriers, and lights for target illumination.
“Despite the fact that our nation was built upon the promise of the Second Amendment, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer are determined to attack our fundamental gun rights and erode our ability to own various firearms. The Alabama Firearms Protection Act will ensure that state and local law enforcement resources cannot be used to enforce any gun control laws or executive orders that might be enacted on the federal level,” said Stringer.
This will bring up some interesting Constitutional issues if Texas and Alabama pass these laws for when Biden rams through his gun control agenda. Article VI of the U.S. Constitution basically says that federal supersedes state and local law, but the 2nd Amendment says the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
Biden can’t make Texas and Alabama enforce federal law and certainly not unconstitutional federal law, so either he will have to invade these states with federal troops or challenge it court, where his gun control laws will be struck down.
My bet would be that Biden would just ignore Texas and Alabama so he can at least have gun control going in the rest of the country. Hopefully more states join Texas and Alabama to pass laws blocking Biden’s assault on our Constitutional rights.
