Democrats have have made all sorts of violent threats against Republicans because they are horrible people. As part of that horribleness, they have a double-standard that allows them to be outraged when Republicans make jokes that they perceive as violent threats against them. GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy made a joke about hitting Nancy Pelosi with the Speaker’s gavel and there’s nothing but tears and tantrums from the democrats.
California Rep. Kevin McCarthy was at a dinner this weekend with the Tennessee Republican Congressional delegation when he was presented with an oversized gavel that read, “Fire Pelosi!”
Washington Post reporter Michael Scherer got the outrage ball rolling from there:
Tenn. reps gave Kevin McCarthy an oversized gavel after speech.
McCarthy invites the 1,400 at Nashville dinner to DC when he becomes speaker.
He says he wants everyone to see Pelosi hand him the gavel. “It will be hard not to hit her with it but I will bang it down,” he says.

That’s clearly a joke, but let’s break it down to debunk any liberal outrage related to it. McCarthy is joking that the oversized gavel is so big that it would be hard to not hit Nancy Pelosi with it. He’s obviously saying this under the framework that he will replace Pelosi as House Speaker after Republicans flip the House in the 2022 midterms.
McCartyh however doesn’t say he’s going to hit Pelosi with the gavel and in fact jokes that he’ll be making an effort to not hit her. Most importantly, there is no threat to actually assault Pelosi in any way.

If Swalwell hasn’t resigned for banging Chinese spy, Fang Fang, I don’t see why McCarthy should quit for joking about not hitting Pelosi with an oversized novelty gavel. Apparently Swalwell’s flatulence problem is affecting his brain.

Remember kids, it’s only bad when the Republicans do it.
Even though McCarthy didn’t come close to threatening to hit Pelosi, if he did flatten her face with an oversized gavel it would smooth out her wrinkles better than all of those Botox injections.
