Illegitimate president Joe Biden announced a travel ban for many African countries to stop the COVID Omicron variant that he calls the “omnicron.” Back when he was just an illegitimate person running for president, Biden criticized Donald Trump’s travel bans as racist and xenophobic. White House press secretary Jen Psaki explained today why Trump’s travel bans were racist and Joe Biden’s are not. Spoiler alert: she explained nothing.
Fox’s Peter Doocy asked Psaki why Biden’s travel ban isn’t as racist and xenophobic as Biden described Trump’s travel ban:

“Before Joe Biden was president, he said that COVID travel restrictions on foreign countries were hysterical xenophobia and fear mongering, so what changed?” Doocy asked.
“I would say first to put it in full context, Peter, what the president was critical of was the way that the former president put out, I believe, a xenophobic tweet and how he called, what he called the coronavirus and who he directed it at. The president has not been critical of travel restrictions,” said Psaki.
In addition to not answering the question about Biden’s raging hypocrisy, Psaki told 2 distant lies: 1) That Biden was never critical of Trump’s travel bans and 2) the Biden was criticizing a tweet in which Trump called the coronavirus the “China virus.”
Let’s tackle these in order.
On January 31, 2020, Donald Trump issued a travel ban for China and less than 24 hours later, Biden sent out this tweet:
We are in the midst of a crisis with the coronavirus. We need to lead the way with science — not Donald Trump’s record of hysteria, xenophobia, and fear-mongering. He is the worst possible person to lead our country through a global health emergency.
— Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) February 1, 2020
On that same day, Joe Biden wrote a statement on Medium in which he clearly criticized Trump’s travel ban:
Yesterday, Donald Trump further diminished the United States in the eyes of the world by expanding his travel ban, placing new restrictions on the residents of six more nations that limit who is allowed to come to the United States.
Three years ago, he took aim at Muslim-majority nations. This time, he targeted primarily African nations — including Nigeria, the largest economy and the most populous nation on the continent, and Sudan, a country striving to transition to civilian rule after decades of dictatorship. The “Muslim Ban,” this new “African Ban,” Trump’s atrocious asylum and refugee policies — they are all designed to make it harder for black and brown people to immigrate to the United States. It’s that simple. They are racist. They are xenophobic.
Biden said that both the China and Africa travel bans were xenophobic.
I don’t really need to disprove Psaki’s second lie since Biden was critical of Trump’s travel bans and not talking about him calling the coronavirus the “Chinese virus” but this is fun, so let’s go Brandon:
Obviously since Twitter banned Trump, we can’t pull up the tweet in question, but it was sent in March of 2020. How did Joe Biden criticize a tweet Trump sent in March on February 1? I know he lives in a fantasy world where he probably believes he can travel through time but the reality is, he can’t.
The entire episode shows how completely full of shit the media is, including Fox News. Yes, Peter Doocy asked the question, but he didn’t follow it up with a fact-check. The reality is, the Biden administration can tell any lie and there’s not a single journalist who will hold them accountable.
