The dumbest thing this week has been the Lauren Boebert/Ilhan Omar saga. The Republican Boebert made a joke about democrat Omar being a suicide bomber and brother-f*cker, both of which are true to a certain extent, and the ensuing faux outrage has consumed the fake news cycle. Things got even dumber today when Omar played a “death threat” she received, which she blamed entirely on Boebert.
Omar held a press conference to play a voicemail she got “just hours” after hanging up on Boebert during the Republican’s apology call:

“We see you, you Muslim sand*gger bitch. We know what you’re up to. You’re all about taking over our country. Don’t worry, there’s plenty that will love the opportunity to take you off the face of this f*cking Earth. Come get that you f*cking Muslim piece of shit, you jihadist. We know what you are. You’re a f*cking traitor. You will not live much longer, bitch. I can almost guarantee you that. We the people are rising up and you will be tried for a military tribunal and you will be found guilt,” said the caller.
Sure, there’s some salty language there, but that’s no death threat. The person calls Omar a “traitor” and says she will be found guilty by a military tribunal. The sentence for treason is death. The caller never said he was going to personally kill Omar, just that she would face justice. This is as much of a threat as fellow Jihad Squad member, Rashida Tlaib saying “We’re gonna impeach the mother*cker” of Donald Trump.
This is not a death threat but there’s also reason to believe it’s fake. The wording the caller uses is very awkward, like someone who isn’t a native English speaker. In fact, the vocal patterns and sentence structure is very similar to the way Ilhan Omar talks. Perhaps she wrote a script and had one of her minions place the call on a burner phone.
Also, it’s a little weird that Omar held a press conference to play this “death threat” rather than taking it to the FBI or whatever law enforcement agency deals with threats to members of Congress. If this were a legitimate threat, that voicemail is evidence. Playing it at a press conference jeopardizes any sort of investigation.
This voicemail is very similar to an almost-certainly fake “death threat” letter Omar received in 2019:
“Ilhan Omar!! You will not be going back to Washington, your life will end before your “Vacation” ends. That being said, you will not die alone, if that matters. Quite likely it will be at the Minnesota State Fair, that’s where the, you won’t die alone, comes in. However we have a very capable person with a very big “GUN”. They say we can’t get the Somali Stink out of the clean Minnesota air, but we’re going to enjoy the adventure,” read the letter.
Again, there is some very awkward English going on there. Also, just like the voicemail, the letter uses “we” instead of “I” like there’s a massive Omar opposition force.
It’s my opinion that Omar is faking these so-called death threats, but even if she isn’t, she’s playing them up for the public so you always remember she is the victim.
