The Senate confirmed Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett yesterday and she was promptly sworn in by Justice Clarence Thomas. You’d think that democrats who preach diversity and inclusion would be over the moon that a woman reached the high court and was welcomed in by a black man but they don’t mean what they say. In fact, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer called the auspicious occasion the “darkest day” and then threatened Republicans for having the gall to put the first working mom on the bench.
With the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, democrats tried to make up a rule that President Trump wasn’t allowed to nominate her replacement. The Constitution disagreed with this rule and so in a completely normal and legitimate process Amy Coney Barrett was confirmed. That doesn’t mean democrats are finally willing to accept it however.
According to Fox News, Chuck Schumer shook his fist at Republicans and told them they will rue the day.
“The Republican majority is lighting its credibility on fire,” said Schumer. “The next time the American people give Democrats a majority in this chamber, you will have forfeited the right to tell us how to run that majority. My colleagues may regret this for a lot longer than they think.”
With this threat to go apeshit the next time the democrats get a majority in the Senate, Schumer is pretty much guaranteeing that the American people will never give that to them. The only party whose credibility is torched are the democrats who tried to stop a Constitutional process with the mutha of all partisan temper tantrums.
Also, why does Schumer think his threats are scary? He has no power and he’s a goofball.
This isn’t the first time Chuck has made threats in relation to the Supreme Court. Back in March, he tried to scare conservative justices ahead of a decision:
“I want to tell you, Gorsuch. I want to tell you, Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions,” said Schumer.
It’s been 7 months and as far as I can tell, Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh haven’t paid any price so the GOP shouldn’t be sweating a Chucky threat. It’s possible Scumer of full of hot air or some other foul smelling substance.

Really? A woman being confirmed to the Supreme Court is one of the darkest days in Senate history? What about when the democrats passed ObamaCare without reading it? Or when the democrats filibustered the Civil Rights Act? Or how about when a slave-owning democrat nearly beat an abolitionist Republican to death with a cane on the Senate floor?
For the record, Schumer also called the passing of the Trump tax cuts one of the darkest days and again when the Senate voted to acquit the President in the sham impeachment trial. Apparently whenever Chuck doesn’t get his way, it’s a dark day.
Schumer ended this hissy fit by claiming that confirming ACB went against the will of the people, which is yet another lie. The people elected President Trump. The people elected a Republican majority in the Senate. The vast majority of Americans support the nomination that they elected their representatives to confirm. Chuck seems to be under the impression that he is the voice of the people but, like everything else he believes, he’s wrong.
For the rest of us, let’s enjoy the fact that there is now a 6-3 conservative majority in the Supreme Court, which is something democrats may never be able to undo.
