In a great example of the liberal rule that things are only bad when Republicans say them, several democrats were outraged at a statement calling for violence against political opponents. The only problem is, that statement came from democrat Maxine Waters. As you can imagine, the outrage quickly subsided once the democrats realized it was one of their own inciting violence with hateful rhetoric.
Back in 2019, Maxine Waters ordered her followers to harass and assault anyone from the Trump administration:
Life comes at you fast…
Just months after @RepMaxineWaters instructed her fans to harass anyone serving in the Trump admin. wherever they are seen, (“department store, gas station, restaurant…”) she complains on @MSNBC that she can’t go to the grocery store without security. pic.twitter.com/xRghSecGGU

“If you see anybody in that cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” said Waters of Trump officials.
Someone thought it would be funny, and they were right, to switch that Waters quote to make it look like it was directed against New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s administration:
“If you see anybody from the Cuomo Administration in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.” -Maxine CuomoWatch@melissadderosa pic.twitter.com/VbeTf7Rl7R

That quote is attributed to someone named “Maxine CuomoWatch” which should be a big clue that it’s not legit. Democrats however have too much pent up rage to apply any scrutiny before flying off the handle, so here’s NY State Senator Diane Savino losing her shit:
This is beyond outrageous. Two weeks ago we saw what happened when arsonists throw gas around. Twitter should ban this dude now! https://t.co/C23G87ThhU

When it was pointed out that the quote actually came from Maxine Waters and was directed at Trump administration officials, Savino was came back from being beyond outraged at the quote, but still beyond outraged at Trump:
I see what they did, but, that was then and this is now, and 4 years of Trump has led to words becoming weapons. We can’t just ignore them anymore, people take them as a call to violent actions.

Most people would be embarrassed by getting caught being that full of shit, but not democrats.
Other democratic NY lawmakers acknowledged their hypocrisy by deleting their tweets. Here’s NY state assemblymen Kenny Burgos and Ken Zebrowski:
The Ken dolls don’t like it.
The funniest one by far comes from U.S. Rep. Ritchie Torres, who is a member of the Financial Services Committee headed by Maxine Waters:
Torres has no idea how appalling the woman he works for really is.
You may have noticed that once they discovered the quote came from Mad Maxine, none of these democrats condemned her words or found them outrageous in any way.
Just yesterday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called Republicans “the enemy within” and NY Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accused Republican Ted Cruz of trying to murder her. If Republicans said anything like this, democrats would accuse them of inciting violence, but nothing is off-limits when it comes out of the mouth of a democrat.
