The Gabby Petito disappearance/murder has captured the country’s interest because of all the intrigue and tragedy. The liberal media, who has been covering it nonstop, however says you are racist for watching their reports. Even worse, they blame you, the viewer, for their lack of coverage concerning women of color who have gone missing. It’s amazing how the fake news has found a way to be even more full of shit.
Let’s start out with Joy Reid earlier in the week raging against the racism of people watching Gabby Petito coverage:
MSNBC’s Joy Ann Reid: Media reporting Gabby Petito’s disappearance/presumed murder is symptom of “Missing White Woman Syndrome.” pic.twitter.com/UYAWgaDyYr

“The way this story has captivated the nation has many wondering, why not the same media attention when people of color go missing? Well, the answer actually has a name: Missing White Woman Syndrome – the term coined by the late and great Gwen Ifill to describe the media and public fascination with missing white women like Laci Peterson or Natalee Holloway, while ignoring cases involving of people of color,” said Reid.
You may have noticed that Joy Reid has her own “news” TV show. Surely she has spent considerable time covering cases of missing people of color, right? Not so much and she also ignores them on Twitter:
Weird. @JoyAnnReid complains about the lack of coverage on missing minority girls, but only has 4 tweets about them since she opened the account in 2009.
2 are jokes about The Walking Dead, 1 about Boko Haram & 1 about missing girls in DC in 2018. She should talk about it more. https://t.co/xaHqWJ72DF pic.twitter.com/IyOQyJ4G7Z

Joy Reid has 2 million Twitter followers and a national TV show, which are huge platforms to promote stories about missing women of color but she doesn’t use them. Instead, she accuses you of being racist because she doesn’t do it.
And so do a lot of other liberal media outlets:
The media’s focus on the Gabby Petito case has been frustrating for some people — who point out that the epidemic of missing and murdered indigenous women doesn’t get nearly the same media attention.https://t.co/CAEI82oXrL

Gabby Petito’s homicide in Wyoming has become a national story — but it’s also shining a light on the hundreds of Indigenous people who went in the missing in the state and didn’t get the same attention. @kelseyvlamis reports: pic.twitter.com/QWaFY6XwGD

As cases like Gabby Petito’s get national spotlight, Black and brown families with missing loved ones say their cases struggle to grab attention https://t.co/THnMNLDRtT

If only NPR, CBS, and CNN had some way of reporting on cases of missing people of color.
Apparently The Washington Post is also hopeless in this plight. Here’s Wapo’s national politics reporter Eugene Scott:
“In the same area that Gabby Petito disappeared, 710 indigenous people— mostly girls—disappeared between the years of 2011 and 2020 but their stories didn’t lead news cycles …” https://t.co/HJ01B6CsRK

And Fake News Fredo:
Let’s see if the attention on #gabbypetito and the concern about neglect of others who are missing can generate sustained interest in finding folks. Another family is desperate. Will you take up the cause? pic.twitter.com/12XEys0wDq

Notice how he tagged white girl Gabby Petito but not woman of color Reatha May Finkbonner? Also, how much coverage has he given on his CNN show to Finkbonner? She went missing almost 2 months ago and I’m certain this is the first time he’s mentioned her anywhere.
All of this adds up to the liberal media shaming people and calling them racist because they chose to cover stories like Gabby Petito’s and not missing women of color. How, under any twisted justification, is this on us?
I’m not in charge of their newsrooms and neither are you. If I was, they’d be covering stuff like Joe Biden’s oatmeal brains, his son Hunter’s crack and corruption problem, Gen. Milley’s treason, and the border crisis.
