OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum welcomed visitors back inside after being closed for almost three months because of the coronavirus pandemic.
To make sure people stay safe, the memorial and museum implemented some noticeable changes, including visitors being required to wear face masks. Visitors who don’t have a face mask will be given one as part of the effort to limit the spread of COVID-19.
The museum has several opportunities for interaction, and officials are trying to limit how many people touch each display. Museum officials also will limit the number of people allowed inside at one time with timed ticketing. The Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum also has new exhibits.
This year marks 25 years since the Murrah Building bombing, which killed 168 people. Because the annual remembrance ceremony couldn’t be held in person because of the pandemic, the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum produced an hourlong television special to honor those killed, their families and first responders.
